Virtual IT Goes 100% Virtual! - 4/25/2011

True to our name and our values, Virtual IT has moved everything to the cloud and today its staff members all work virtually when not located at client sites. The firm adopted this strategy during the most recent economic downturn, and it provided significant cost savings and productivity gains as a result of transfering the data center management responsibility to a third party.

We have a cloud based PBX for IP telephony and leverage cloud based hosted services instead of on-premise physical infrastructure to support our back-office needs. We use a variety of cloud based solutions to establish project environments for our clients, this gives us flexibility to stand up and stand down the technology needed to complete a project very efficiently, enabling us to better align our cost structure with our project portfolio. We also migrated from BPOS and upgraded to Office 365 supports our desktop, collaboration and messaging needs.

With the costs for cloud based services often at parity or below the cost to manage many of these commodity based IT services internally, it makes sense for organizations to look at cloud based strategies, and free up IT resources so they can be focused on more value added activities.

If you decide cloud based solutions have cost savings or productivity opportunities for your organization and would like some help evaluating the options, call us, we can provide you with the advantage of our experience.
